Maclay Architects worked with LandWorks to develop a masterplan for the Alburgh Dunes State Park, a 625 acre property on the shores of Lake Champlain. The design includes increased parking and rain gardens to reduce storm water runoff. It strives to minimize the ecological footprint and disturbance of the natural site, while encouraging use through accessibility, design and function.

We are now working to develop individual structures, including both central and remote composting toilet facilities, an open pavilion and contact stations. These low, open, horizontal buildings are designed to mimic the landscape horizon, while being visually unobtrusive by blending into the natural surroundings.
