The Pyralisk Arts Center, a 19 year old nonprofit cultural organization, is planning to develop a Performance and Arts Park along the Winooski River in Downtown Montpelier. The 1.3 acre site is occupied by an enormous metal building with structural failures and contaminated soils, from its history as a rail yard.

The Canopy design process is based on first gaining a deep understanding of regional and site natural systems, climate, people, culture, and history. The masterplan concept that was generated for Cacique del Mar was based on that understanding.

Maclay Architects is working with Circus Smirkus to design space programs and master plans for the Big Top Tour, Circus Smirkus Camp and Residencies.  The planning team, Circus Smirkus staff and Board have held programming discussions and are working to develop a master plan for all built facilities.

In 1979, Gesundheit Institute purchased 310 acres in rural West Virginia to develop a health center. They saw this project as a model for health care, and wanted the physical design of their facility to reinforce their ideas about health.

Fuller Hill Farm was designed to create a residential neighborhood. The development rights on 150 of the 200 acres were donated to the Vermont Land Trust, guaranteeing perpetual protection for wildlife habitat, meadows, and forestland.

The Village of North Troy received state and federal funds to purchase a farm adjacent to the existing village center.

Camp Common Ground purchased a beautiful property to use for their family camp. Their goals were to protect the property and to use a portion of the land in a sustainable manner.

We were asked to determine the feasibility of developing a nine acre parcel in Cambridge, MA, while maximizing the income from existing income-producing properties.

Hampshire college conducted a national search to select a planning team to assist them in developing an innovative sustainable campus plan and planning process. We assembled a team including energy consultants, development experts, landscape architects, and other architects with collegiate experience.

Champlain Valley Cohousing asked us to work with them and Kraus-Fitch Architects in designing their 24 family cohousing project in Charlotte.
