William Maclay Architects and Planners is an architecture and planning firm specializing in the design of buildings that take care of human needs and aspirations while incorporating energy and resource conservation, optimal indoor air quality, healthy building design technologies and environmentally responsive land use planning.

WMAP teams work in a studio format to provide a focus of experience to the appropriate project types, but all staff in the office offer contributions to the success if a project as necessary. Of our current 14 staff, 6 are registered architects, and 9 are LEED APs. Our staff has diverse experience in a broad range of project types, and all share a commitment to and experience with environmental design.

Bill Maclay AIA, LEED AP is actively engaged with our clients, leads the overall direction of projects, and establishes firm standards. He has specialized in environmental design, planning and construction since 1971. Bill was the recipient of the 2007 Terry Ehrich Award from Vermont Businesses for Social Responsibility. WMAP has strong relationships with civil, structural, MEP, environmental, energy, and construction consultants. We have established partnering relationships with construction managers and contractors so that owners have a productive and proactive team focused on the highest quality of work for all budgets.
