The Yestermorrow Design/Build School teaches building design and construction based on sustainable design principles. The main building on the campus was originally a hotel, which has been converted through phased work into a school to advance education.
We updated the master plan for the overall campus including possible affordable housing and design build workshops for practitioners, and developed a masterplan for phased renovations to the building. We assisted staff and committees in developing environmental guidelines, generating building plans and acquiring state and local permits. Since then we have provided detailed design and construction document services for office, workshop, dining, classroom, and dormitory space. Design work included optimizing indoor air quality, maximizing energy and resource conservation, and incorporating sustainable design strategies so that the building will be a model of environmental design.
