We were hired along with the Burley Partnership to complete Phase 1 of Mad River Glen’s Base Area Master Plan. The project included providing comprehensive analysis and schematic design for the complete Base Area Master Plan, including a new ski patrol / ski school building and renovating some of the facilities in the Bridge building.
Mad River Glen outlined two goals for the implementation of their Base Area Master Plan: First increasing the functionality of the current spaces and second making long-term investments that will benefit the ski area that can be rationalized to investors. The goal of these new and renovated base area facilities is to enhance the strong community character that already exists and to make the existing spaces more user friendly.
Through our design process with Mad River Glen, we provided the ski area with the tools they need to evaluate the impact of their new and renovated facilities on their operating budget. We provided designs at multiple levels of energy performance, and the corresponding financial analysis so that Mad River Glen can make the best choices for their future in order to be responsible to their shareholders.
